Example front room “Weberwiese”

A Beautiful two-room apartment in Berlin Friedrichshain!

The residential complex “Weberwiese” was built in 1955. It was designed by the famous architect Herrmann Henselmann and is known as one of the greatest German architectural monuments.

Hermann Henselmann was the Berlin architect who used social, aesthetic and socio-political aspects between 1950 and 1970. His influence can be seen running especially from Friedrichshain to Alexanderplatz.

The large residential development from Frankfurter Tor with the famous “Stalinbauten” runs up to Alexanderplatz with “Haus des Lehrers” and its own special charm, all of which was designed and realized by this famous Architect. The residential complex “Weberwiese” is a more plain architecture in comparison to the pompous “Stalinbauten” on Karl-Marx-Allee. Typical for plain architecture of this time are the clear and simple floor plans and the “Dreispänner” construction method. There are three apartments on each floor of four-storied apartment housing.

Central Berlin Location – Friedrichshain

The residential complex is located in the trendy district of Friedrichshain. Despite the very central location, the “Weberwiese” peacefully situated. The dynamic and creative flair of this district is very attractive and multi-cultural. Various companies like MTV, Universal, CocaCola ,Zapa, Pyramid, the German architecture Centrum (“deutsche Architekturzentrum”) and a lot more have recognized the trend already a few years ago and moved their centers here. This former working class district has changed immediately to a place for design, fashion, art, music and entertainment and sets new trends for the future.
